MEGA FISH FOOD

Wooooooah!! So I ran out of fish flakes recently, and check out my new GIANT can compared to my old (empty) small one!! 

    I save all my fish food cans... Is that weird?? I feel like they could be useful.

Hey guys, sorry about my recent lack of posts.  I'll probably start up again when school is out. Not much to report, except that the guppies have been getting small nips in their tails (likely from Aphrodite...) , I cleaned my tank (for the first time in a while..) and that I haven't sold Zeus yet... Meanwhile, enjoy some never-before-seen pictures!

Not long ago, I sat admiring my tank. I watched as my five guppies swam happily around  my tank-but something was wrong- Nero, one of our newest guppies, was not with them. Instead, he swam by himself in the corner. He looked sickly. Well, as you can probably guess... he died. We shall miss him.

The Pleco Problem

As mentioned in an earlier post, I've recently been contemplating whether I should sell Zeus or not.... He's getting WAY to big and it's not good for his health. If I did sell him, I would most likely buy a different type of pleco that would stay small. (anywhere from 2-6") I did some research, and discovered a Pitbull Pleco. They're TINY! They only grow to 2" and (contrary to what the name suggests) are very peaceful. I also found the bristlenose pleco, the albino bristlenose pleco, and the clown pleco. I also found the Queen Arabesque pleco, the blue panaque pleco, the sunshine pleco, the gold nugget pleco, and the starlight bristlenose pleco, and although they're stunningly beautiful, they are SUPER expensive! I guess if I REALLY wanted them, I could shell out the cash... Anyways, that's whats on my mind right now. Leave a comment below of what you think I should do and vote on the weekly poll. 


 Just to clarify, my top choice is the pitbull pleco.

Pectoral Fins?

With all the recent new guppies, I thought I'd bring up the subject of pectoral fins..... guppies have them! Yes, yes, it's true. They are transparent, which explains why we have all lived in the dark all this time. Without them, guppies wouldn't be able to swim! (If you have no idea what pectoral fins are, they're like little fish arm-fins.... Tutankhamen has so kindly modeled his below for your visual enjoyment.) So yes, now you know.

One other thing I want to point out is I have discovered a way to clarify old pictures of fish such as Hercules, Napoleon, and Sharkbait, so be sure to check out the new pictures in the Fish Name Photo Gallery (Identification) tab above. Sharkbait's picture was so blurry that I just got a picture from the internet of what his species of fish looks like, though it's not really him :)

More guppies! Oh where have all the Pachi gone?

I am proud to announce the arrival of two new citizens: Nero and Trajan! Yes, both of them are guppies..... Originally, I was just going to get more neon tetras, but then the fish-store-person warned me that I had to get five. FIVE.  Yes, I know they're schooling fish but FIVE?! I don't have enough room in my tank! The only way I could do that is by selling Zeus.... but that's weird to think about. He's the ruler of the Underwater Empire! Although it is a smart idea because he's getting so big! Maybe, maybe.... If I did sell him, I'd probably replace him with a pleco that stays small, and probably more exotic! Like a Zebra Pleco! I also cleaned my tank, (after avoiding it for weeks).
