Happy Birthday, Blog!

Hey there everyone! Well, I logged on to blogspot and noticed that my last post (that I wrote a week or so ago) failed to publish. Yeah, so for the record, I'm not quite as lazy as it may seem. :) the purpose of this post is that along with all my other forgetfulness, I totally forgot that February 22nd was this blog's birthday AND the anniversary of when Aphrodite and Caligula joined my tank! It's been a fabulous two years of having this blog to record stuff, and even better to have a great (rebellious) fish like Aphrodite! Happy Birthday, Underwater Empire! 

An early TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY present!!!

In honor of the two year anniversary of having my tank, I got three new fish!! I got Rameses, a CORY to represent remembering the original fish from 2011, a GUPPY (I can't decide between Demeter or Dionysus for a name..)

to represent all the new friends we've gained since then (Persephone was all alone and needed a friend..), and Nyx (I named her that because Nyx is the god of the night, and she is midnight black, hence the name!) a PLATY (or molly?), an all new fish to represent the new adventures in the future! Goodness me! How could I forget!!??

I have just had the realization that I have forgotten to celebrate this blog's one year anniversary! I'm terribly upset with myself, because I was really excited to have a party on Februrary 22nd. Well, it's too late now (I know, I know, I should say something like 'it's never too late' but in this case, I'm feeling pessimistic...) but anyways, yes. It happened on Feb. 22nd. It was also the anniversary of Aphrodite and Caligula's arrival. (got them same day I made blog) Caligula is now living happily in a 250 gallon tank (much more fitting to his size..) and Aphrodite continues to zoom around my tank. Yep. Happy birthday blog!

I Loving Memory...

Today marks one year since the death of out dear guppy, Napoleon. He was a great fish and will always be in our hearts. I also handed over my 10 gal to my cousin today, she was extremely excited! I worked very hard to prepare it. I had to make sure everything was super clean, which included scrubbing all of the gravel. I hope she has fun with it. Happy New Year!!! I hope it is a very exciting and prosperous one for the Aquatic Kingdom!

One year anniversary!!!

Today marks one year since I got my fish tank. Wow, has it really been a year? I remember my facination with them on the first day, I watched them for hours! Being busy with my Halloween festivities, I didn't have time to throw them much of a party, what would I have done anyways? I gave the tank some outer decorations and even sang 'Happy Birthday' to them thrice (you can imagine how ridiculous I looked). Well, it's been a wonderful year! I can't imagine my life without them!

Thinking back on those first days with the tank. How much it has progressed!!!

Welcome Hatchepsut & and Hades!!!

Welcome Hatchepsut & Hades, my two new male guppies!!! (Hat-chep-soot and Hay-dees) At first, Hades was going to be named Alcibiades or Peracles, but I kept forgetting how to pronounce his name and it just wasn't sticking. I renamed him Hades: god of the underworld in Greek Mythology, which I think is much more fitting considering his coloring. Well, they will surely make my take a happy one for the upcoming (on Wednesday) one year anniversary!!!
